Significant Achievements (2005 - 2008)

• The internet service link has been changed from the VSAT to ATM link through the  same  hospital  internet provider,  in  cooperation  with  the  Information Technology Affairs  (ITA). This step has enabled mixing the internet service provided by ESC and the hospital in one link, and consequently led to increasing  the bandwidth of the internet service to reach to 40MB after the official working hours , and therefore,contributed significantly in improving the performance of  the DSL  service provided  to  the residents.
• Construction  of  the  New  Shaded  Parking  Project  within  the  hospital premises.
• Renovation of the Day Care Centre/Nursery playground, by  installing shaded tents and supplying  new playing items; which enhanced the aesthetic picture of the facility.
• Supplied high quality swimming pool furniture for the Amenities Centre, Palm VillasI, Palm VillasII, and Compound West swimming pools.
• The New Cable TV System which upgraded the old analogue system to a more enhanced digital one by incorporating the most advanced technology in this arena; in addition to that of the new system, accommodated more additional and enhanced channels compared to the old system.
• Upgrading the weight room and exercise hall at the KFNCCC&R.
• Upgrading the exercise rooms at C, D, E Complexes and AC by providing new highly standard exercise equipment and LCD’s.
• Upgrading and renovation of the Swimming Pool and the restrooms at the Palm Villas I by providing complete swimming pool furniture.
• Upgrading of the tennis court at the Palm Villas II by introducing a concrete and metal fence.
• Renovation of the Swimming Pool at Palm Villas II.
• Supply and installation of access control systems at the recreational facilities in the Hospital compounds such as: Swimming Pool at PVI, Swimming Pool at PVII, Squash Courts at PVII, Tennis Courts at PVI, Female Exercise and Weight rooms at PVI, Male Exercise and Weight rooms at PVI, Swimming Pool at CW, Exercise Rooms at C and E Complexes, and the door between the Hospital and CW.
• Conducting waterproofing works at the Commercial Centre roof.
• Supply and installation of EPN Communication Cabin at the Compound West to simplify the provision of ADSL services at the West Compound.
• Increasing the number of available TV channels by subscribing to the Filipino Channel, Showtime, Orbit, and ART channels.
• Supply and installation of 30 phone enclosure/booths and 30 phone signage at the recreational facilities and different locations in the Hospital premises.
• Supply of 286 TV’s to replace the old TV’s at the KFNCCC&R and Hospital compounds.
• Supplied high-quality exercise equipment  for  the Male Weight Room at  the Amenities Centre and other gym  facilities within  the hospital compounds.
•  Successful  sports  tournaments  have  been  organized which  include:  Tennis Tournament, Inter-Color Basketball Tournament, Inter-Department Basketball Tournament, Squash Tournament and the Bowling Team League Tournament (Champion).
• Successful Summer Program has been organized during the summer vacation for  children  at  the  Amenities Centre;  including  a  vast  variety  of  enjoyable activities and programs.
• For the welfare of the residents, major renovation works have been conducted at several recreation facilities and related utilities within hospital compounds e.g. Amenities Centre Main Hall, Weight Room at Olaya 6 and  installation of access control  system at  the weight  rooms  in C and E complex.
• The 2nd phase of the  Internet/ADSL service was  implemented  in the outside hospital  compounds  and  at the  King  Fahad  National  Centre  for  Children Cancer.
• The  number  of  the  cable  TV  channels  in  the  hospital  compounds  was increased  from 72  to 118.

Innovation - New Services

• Establishing the new Female Fitness Centre at Palm Villas I, which consists of a very highly equipped weight room, exercise hall, Jacuzzi, and snack bar.
• Establishing the New Cricket field at the KFNCCC&R to provide cricket lessons and hold the tournaments.

Research Activities

• Conducting a survey among the residents regarding the New Cable TV System.
• Conducting a survey among the residents of PVI and PVII regarding the converting of the Community Hall at PVI to the Female Fitness Centre.
